"I haven’t been able to get around like I used to. I don’t know what I
would have done without the help of Project HEARTH." — Pearl, a Project HEARTH client
Created in 1994, Project HEARTH (Helping Elderly Adults Remain in Their Homes) is one of Family
Services’ senior-serving programs. Project HEARTH links elderly adults who are healthy enough
to live in their own homes with special volunteer support services.
Project HEARTH’s support services include:
- Professional in-home counseling
- Handyman chore service
- Errand and transportation service
- Friendly visiting
- Medical advocacy (training provided)
- Telephone reassurance
Volunteers are needed! We are looking for volunteer "handymen" and insured drivers. Volunteers may also assist with office and yard work.
Project HEARTH is available in the greater Pottstown and North Penn areas. For more information on
Project HEARTH or to volunteer, please call 610-718-5372 (greater Pottstown area) or 215-368-0985 (greater North Penn area).
